Feeding America, the parent company of Feedmore in Richmond, is now involved in "Mission Creep." When we began our partnership with them 22 years ago, we had the same shared mission; to feed hungry people. However, they have now chosen to veer off of their original mission towards things that are socially and spiritually divisive. This is evident on Feeding America's Social Media pages. Because of this new mission endeavor, and the restrictions they are putting  on our religous freedom of speech in the Feedmore partner contract, New Hope Pantry can no longer be affiliated with this organization.

Feedmore currently provides 95% of the food we distribute. By ending our relationship with Feedmore, we will no longer have adequate resources to distribute to our shoppers. Therefore, Effective July 30th, New Hope Pantry will close.

New Hope Church, however, will continue it's mission to care for it's members and to go into the world and preach the Gospel. We will also work towards establishing new resources and network opportunities to allow for even more outreach.

With God as our Provider, we look towards the future with great Hope and anticipation in what He has in store. In the mean time, our mission, and our heart, remain the same. We will continue to Love God and love others any way He leads and provides.

Of course our Spiritual resources are unlimited in volume and service area. We are always ready to help with a spiritual need. If you desire to go through our new intake process for physical needs, we will begin one on one meetings soon, so we may better identify more clearly the needs, and level of needs. Often times, food is neither the only, nor the primary need. As we look to gain new resources and food becomes available,  we will be looking to fill the biggest needs first. We must always be good stewards of what God provides. With limited physical resources, we must be even more careful.

We have always been careful to remind our shoppers, and volunteers, that we are not their provider, God is. This transition will put many people's faith to the test. But God will prove Himself faithful, once again. to those who look to Him.

Matthew 6:25-34

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?

"So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat? or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own."
