Some people said we couldn't call ourselves a church because we didn't have a building. New Hope Church has been a church since it's inception in 2000, even though, for the past 24 years, we didn't have a building in which to meet. We have met in borrowed facilities, paid minimal rent on occasion, met outdoors, in tents... whatever place we could find.
God called us to be a church, and therefore, we are a church. We worship as a church, we love as a church, we act as a church, we give as a church, and we serve as a church. The rugged meeting and serving conditions may have kept our numbers low, but we never gave less than our best, no matter how many, or how few, were before us. We didn't spend money we didn't have, to make ourselves more comfortable. We put other's needs before our own by putting our efforts into serving the food needs of our community, instead of stopping ministry to build a building.
Throughout the years, we did work towards a building. We saved. We had the site plans drawn and approved. We cleared the land and put in the retention pond. We bought the required permits. Then we had to stop building, and start saving again. But the one thing we never stopped doing, was ministering to others.
Because of our faithfulness, and persistence to meet and serve, in conditions that were less than favorable, God saw us and He blessed our obedience. This is also a testament to the long time followers and members of New Hope.
On March 24th, 2024, 24 years after chartering as a church, God moved us into a brand new facility, built by the love, generosity and obedience of many of God's servants. This faciility, built specifically for us, on our own church property, was built debt free! In fact, the only debt the church has, is the remaining $50,000 balance owed on the land.
Our story is a true testament of the faithfulness of God. When you obey His commands, step out on faith, are persistent in service, and keep your focus on Him, He will reward you, and His Name will be glorified.
We are excited for what the future has for the ministries of New Hope. No longer limited by weather and nightfall, we can continue our current outreach ministries, and add even more.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all who had a hand in helping this vision become a reality, and for supporting our ministry for all these years. We are humbled by your servants hearts, and pray God's blessings over you as well.
"May the God of hope will you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
