Feeding America, the parent company of Feedmore in Richmond, is now involved in "Mission Creep." When we began our partnership with them 22 years ago, we had the same shared mission; to feed hungry people. However, they have now chosen to veer off of their original mission towards things that are socially and spiritually divisive. This is evident on Feeding America's Social Media pages. Because of this new mission endeavor, and the restrictions they are putting on our religous freedom of speech in the Feedmore partner contract, New Hope Pantry can no longer be affiliated with this organization.
Until recently, Feedmore was providing 95% of the food we distribute. Since ending our relationship with them on July 30th 2024, God has opened new doors, and we now have some exciting new resources from which to provide for our community. All shoppers are now required to do an intake with us. The intake is simply a sit down, one-on-one interview to find out more about their situation and their needs, so that we can ensure we are serving those with the greatest needs first, and so we can meet other needs as able.
With God as our Provider, we look towards the future with great hope and anticipation in what He has in store. In the mean time, our mission, and our heart, remain the same. We will continue to Love God and Love others as He leads and provides.
Of course our Spiritual resources are unlimited in volume and service area. We are always ready to help with a spiritual need. Often times, food is only part of the greater need. As we look for new resources and as food becomes available, we will be looking to fill the biggest needs first. We must remain good stewards of what God provides.
Always remember, we are not anyone's provider, God is. This transition will put many people's faith to the test. But God will prove Himself faithful, once again. to those who trust in Him.

Matthew 6:25-34
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?
"So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat? or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own."
