Matthew chapter 21:1-11

Matthew 21:1: MEV
“When they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, on the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples…”

The King Comes in Peace:

Matthew 21:2-3, MEV
“…saying to them, “Go over into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to Me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them.’ And he will send them immediately.”

**One blessing of being Christ’s follower, is to supply ministry needs from what we’ve already received from the Father’s hand.

Matthew 21:4-5, MEV
“All this was done to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: (The Prophesy) ‘Tell the daughter of Zion, Look, your King is coming to you, humble, and sitting on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

The King is Acclaimed By the People:

Matthew 21:6-8, MEV
“The disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.  They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their garments on them, and He sat on them. A very large crowd spread their garments on the road. Others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.”

The King is crowned with praise:

Matthew 21:9, MEV
“The crowds that went before Him and that followed Him cried out: ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!’”

Matthew 21:10, MEV
“When He entered Jerusalem, the entire city was moved, saying, ‘Who is He?’”

Matthew 21:11, MEV
“The crowds said, ‘This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.’”

Luke 19:42, NOG
“If you had only known today what would bring you peace!
But now it is hidden, so you cannot see it.”
