How to overcome our marriage problems
1. Seek Help from the Healer.
“Now when Jesus finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.”
Matthew 19:1-2, MEV
2. Stop the Hardness in your Heart.
“The Pharisees also came to Him, tempting Him and saying, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?’”
Matthew 19:3, MEV
“When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, then let him write her a bill of divorce and put it in her hand and send her out of his house.”
Deuteronomy 24:1, MEV
“He answered, ‘Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man put asunder.’”
Matthew 19:4-6, MEV
“They said to Him, ‘Then why did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to send her away?’ He said to them, ‘Moses, for the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.’”
Matthew 19:7-8, MEV
3. Let God Set the Standards for your home.
“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she will be called Woman, for she was taken out of Man.”
Genesis 2:23
“But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."
Matthew 19:9, MEV
4. Don’t be Overwhelmed by the Obstacles.
“His disciples said to Him, ‘If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is not good to marry.’”
Matthew 19:10, MEV
5. Receive God’s Plan for your Life.
“But He said to them, ‘Not all men can receive this precept, but only those to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs who have been so from birth, there are some eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are some eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it.’”
Matthew 19:11-12, MEV
