  • When Someone Sins, Be Restoring, Not Judging

Galatians 6:1, “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”

Restore: mend a net, or to set a broken bone

  • When Someone Disagrees with you, Be Tender Without Surrender

2 Timothy 2:24-25, “The Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope God will grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.”

Proverbs 15:1, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

  • When Someone Corrects You, Be Teachable, Not Unreachable

Proverbs 10:17, “Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.”

Proverbs 12:1, ”Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”

Proverbs 13:18, “Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.”

  • When Someone Hurts you, be an Actor, not a Reactor.

1 Peter 2:23, “When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.”

Matthew 26:53, “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?”

Romans 12:17-21, “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

  • When Someone doesn't share your Beliefs, be Respectful not Disrespectful and Condescending

1 Peter 3:15,16, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
