Philippians 4:6
The Power of Prayer

Philippians 4:6 (ESV), “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

 

Prayer: 

Don't be anxious; 

Start praying specifically: 

Submit a petition; 

Insert Thanksgiving. 

 

God wants Conversation - us Praying all the time

He wants us to hear from Him – Read His Word

He wants us to respond to Him – Listen and do

 

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

 

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (CEV), “We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day. These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing. Things that are seen don’t last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That’s why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen.”

 

Ephesians 2:8-9, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this, it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

 

John 3:16 (NKJV), “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

 

2 Corinthians 4:1, “God has been kind enough to trust us with this work. That’s why we never give up.”

 

Verse 5, We are not preaching about ourselves. Our message is that Jesus Christ is Lord. He also sent us to be your servants.” 

 

Verse 7, “We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us.”

 

Verse 15, “All of this has been done for you, so that more and more people will know how kind God is and will praise and honor him.

 

Verses 8-9, “We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”

 

Verse 17, “These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.”

 

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
